| Indian Languages and Computer |
Early History
As soon as the computer was invented Indian scientists started the
experimentsto develop the programs which will enable computer to take
input and give output in Indian language script. In 1980 there was
a revolution in computer & P.C. materialised on everyone table.
Indian scientist took up the challenge & immediatly started developing
application. It is not only Government but also private enterprises
took up the task. It is heartening to note that they did find customers
to support their product. Indeed, there were people in corporate world
who felt the need to have computer in Indian language and saw the
great future Today many enterprise have come out with in product to
make the life
of million of Indians easy. No more dependence on English and to learn
spelling etc. Indian script being phonetic based it is easier to use.
This will prove to be great advantage in spreading the computer usage
in India.
